Sizing & Fit

For men

What size men's boots should I order?

While fit may vary by style, we typically recommend the same size you wear in other leather boots. If you are between sizes, order the larger size. We recommend measuring your feet in millimeters and referring to our size charts to determine which size is best. To know how to correctly measure your foot size, please click here.

Still unsure? Send us an email. We'd love to help you find the right size.

What width are your men's boots? Do you offer wider widths?

All men’s boots are listed in our custom “E-Standard” width. The Standard width fits the majority of the population.

In select styles, we also offer a ‘Wide’ and “Extra-Wide” width option, which is best for customers who wear 3E or 5E widths. The approximate variance in “width circumference” from “E-Standard” to “3E-Wide” is 10 millimeters and you need to consider an additional 10 millimeters from 3E to 5E. (See a full list of styles available in Wide here.)

How do I measure my foot size?

Required tools:

  • Measuring tape
  • Sheet of paper to mark outside of foot
  • Ruler
  • Pencil

Required information to produce your made-to-order boots:

  • Foot length in millimetres (point c on image)
  • Ball point width circumference in millimetres (point a)
  • Instep width circumference in millimetres (point b)

Your feet change during your lifetime and one foot is always slightly larger. To make sure that you get the best possible fit and comfort, we suggest you follow the simple directions below each time you purchase new boots or shoes. Sit on a chair with knees bent 90 degrees or have someone else mark your feet for you so that you are standing up straight, full weight-bearing. Depending on the size of your feet, you may need to use a larger piece, or tape two pieces together.

  1. Place a piece of blank paper on a hard floor.
  2. Stand on the paper wearing a sock of medium thickness.
  3. Holding a pencil vertically without tilting, place a mark at the end of your heel.
  4. Place another mark at the tip of your longest toe.
  5. Mark the sides of your foot at the widest part.
  6. Measure your other foot using the same method.
  7. To find your size, measure the heel-to-toe mark. For example, if you are a woman and your foot measures 245mm long, you will wear a u.s. size 7.5 shoe. Please refer to size chart for more conversions.
  8. To find your width, measure the marks for the widest part of your foot. For example, if you are a woman with a u.s. size 7.5 length and your width measures 230mm, you will wear a medium width (b) shoe.
  9. If your measurements are between two sizes, or you find one foot's measurement larger than the other, always move up to the larger size and submit to us the dimension of the longer foot.
  10. If swelling is an issue you may also wish to measure your foot girth. Girth is measured all the away around your foot and can be measured at the instep (instep girth) and/or at the ball of your feet (foot ball girth). You can call us with these measurements and we can help.

Product & Quality

What makes Anfibio boots so comfortable?

All Anfibio boots are made using insoles that consist of a 10mm high quality footbed that is designed to support the foot for maximum comfort. A steel shank provides added arch support whereas a layer of texon maintains the midsole’s rigidity. A layer of foam acts as a shock absorber and more important allows the midsole to mold your feet for a customized fit. A layer of wool or shearling is built-in our innersoles to provide an additional heat source.

What type of leather do you use?

Our superior grade full-grain leathers and suedes boast durability as well as an uncompromising adherence to good taste. Anfibio leathers and suedes allow perspiration vapors to dissipate maintaining your feet warm and dry. The statement is boots that are both overtly durable, comfortable and subtly chic.

Are Anfibio boots waterproof?

All of our Anfibio leathers and suedes have been certified waterproof by surpassing 15,000 flexes on the bally penetrometer. You will discover that water is instantly repelled from the surface of your Anfibio boots and your feet will remain warm and dry.

Can i use orthotics in my Anfibio boots?

Yes, on boots with removable insoles you can replace them with an orthotic insole of your choice. Removable insoles are listed as a feature in our product descriptions.

Do you have a temperature rating on your Anfibio boots?

No, we do not rate our boots because there are too many factors that could impact your feet being cold.

Anfibio boots were created to withstand our Canadian winters, however it is important to allow enough room for body heat to circulate around your feet, because fit is the most important part of keeping your feet warm. Boots that are too tight will be cold. Degree of activity is also a factor as well as making sure your extremities are covered with a hat and gloves. The materials that make up the outer sole of the boot are also important and the best winter boots have thermal rubber soles.

The socks you wear will also determine how warm your feet will be. A dry foot is a warm foot. When you head out into the cold and your body adjusts to the change in temperature, perspiration can form on your feet. Everyone has their own personal preference when selecting the materials in socks, and there are many materials what will work to wick moisture away from your feet. Merino wool socks are great options for winter.

Do your boots have a guarantee?

We stand behind everything we make and guarantee our products will perform as intended.

Each pair of boots we sell is handmade by artisans. Each pair of boots will wear differently from person to person and vary from style to style. Factors such as terrain, weight, and intended use will have an effect on how quickly the product wears. Sole replacement, wear to wool interior, scratches, scuffs, and insole replacement are considered normal wear and tear and are not considered defective.

ANFIBIO guarantees all boots against any manufacturer defect for six (6) months from the purchase date. If a defect occurs within six (6) months from the purchase date, ANFIBIO will repair the issue free of charge. The guarantee does not cover water penetration through lace openings and/or zippers and if the product has been subjected to misuse, negligence, accidents, chemicals, or exposure to extreme heat. Zipper breakage is not covered under the guarantee. Due to the nature of the leather, any irregularities should not be seen as defects, but rather as inherent qualities of the material. A slight dye transfer may occur with darker coloured leathers and suedes during first few wears. This discoloration is not covered under the manufacturer’s limited warranty.

If you have any repair issues that are not covered under warranty, or would like to know if your repair is covered, please contact us directly at info@anfibioboots.com.

Care Guide & Technical Info

Care Instructions & Technical Info

Care for your leather boots by wiping them with a humid cloth, and clean suede boots with a soft shoe brush and water. This is all you need to maintain your Anfibio boots in good condition!

DON'T put your boots next to a heater or other sources of heat in order to dry them. Our Anfibio leathers will dry naturally overnight and maintain their suppleness.

DON'T clean your boots with cleaning products that are offered at shoe stores, water alone will work. Using store products may damage the leather's texture and performance.

DON'T put your boots away in storage for warmer months without giving them a good cleaning.

DON'T remove your boots by pressing on the heel counter with your other foot because it could damage the heel counter and impact the comfort.

Taking the time to care for your Anfibio boots will help keep your feet warm and comfortable during the cold season and also help extend the life of your Made in Canada footwear!
